Golden Rome ?

They say all roads lead to Rome and those roads may be paved in gold as you play for the chance to win up to 500 coins on a winning payline! Golden Rome from Leander Games is your ticket to the beautiful city at the heart of the Roman Empire as you play the 5-reel and 40 fixed paylines slot in search of riches.
Scenic Mediterranean view with symbolic relics
Imagine picturesque homes with beautiful trees dotting the hillside landscape along with the architecture, which has made Rome so renowned. Two magnificent blue marble columns on each side of the reels seem to keep them suspended as you are about to embark on your play. Poker symbols make up the lower end symbols and as the payouts rise, the symbols then turn into artefacts. You will find vases, coins, a centurion's helmet and a golden eagle. Superior to all other symbols is Caesar himself and his stunning second wife Pompeia. The quality of the graphics is very good but the sound effects are underwhelming, not being consistent with the theme of the game.

Larger than life Emperor wild symbol
The eminent Julius Caesar symbol has the ability to substitute for all symbols except the coliseum scatter. Appearing on the second, third and fourth reels, he can appear as staked wild leading to increased opportunity for wins.
Coliseum
The coliseum scatter symbol acts as a scatter symbol with 3, 4 or 5 symbols in any space awarding you 12, 20 or 40 free games respectively. To bring up your coin count, the free games feature includes a multiplier where your win for a free game is multiplied by the number of times the Julius Caesar wild symbol appears.
Short on features and prizes
The theoretical return to player (RTP) for Golden Rome is 95.24% with bets ranging from €0.40 to €4.0 or €0.01 to €0.10 per payline. While the graphics are exceptional the sound effects was a letdown during base games and only marginally better during free spins. I did manage to trigger the free spins on occasion and did enjoy the multiplier feature, which did make a difference in the amount that I won. This game could have benefited from a bonus feature or card gamble to diversify the ways of winning further. The variance for this game is low and though you will win often enough, the wins will likely be closer to your stake with larger wins much harder to come by. Still, with 40 paylines you should be able to play more rounds for much longer as you attempt at a higher payout. This game is not the most exciting out there and nor is it amongst the higher paying. If these are criteria that you value most, then I suggest you try elsewhere.
