On top of a regal purple background, the golden coloured reel glitters in the light of day with five reels sure to attract attention. We should start-off by saying that all symbols are covered in gold starting from lower level poker symbols and working our way up to an emerald encrusted gold ring, gold credit card, gold timepiece, gold covered automobile and stacks of gold bars. It is definitely not difficult to guess the theme of this game. The sound effects build into the anticipation of a spin through drum rolls that happen on occasion to build suspense. The music is more sedated then I would have expected given the over the top symbols but that is more than made up for when the free spins feature is triggered.

The game is short on features, which could be a disincentive to play this slot though with up to 20 paylines, you could argue that many features might be less relevant. The gold suitcase acts as a wild symbol with 2, 3, 4 or 5 rewarding you with 10, 200, 2000 or 10,000 coins. When the wild symbols forms part of a winning payline, the prize is doubled with a 2x multiplier. As is often the case with slot games, this one also offers a scatter symbol which appears on any reel with 2, 3, 4 or 5 symbols rewarding you with 2, 5, 20 or 100 coins. In addition, at least three scatter symbols award 15 free spins during which time all winning paylines have a 3x multiplier applied. The only exception is a winning payline of five wild symbols. A great extra is that the feature can be re-triggered while active.

This game would have benefited from a bonus symbol to keep things interesting or a gamble feature for more tempting prizes. The graphics quality is good but I found the amount of yellow gold used in the graphics to be a little much for my liking. Still, this is a solid gold game and if you like the theme then why not go for gold?
