Casino review / Arevian de Saint-Trojan-les-Bains
26 Apr 2016
The Island of Oléron is one of the most important touristy places in France. It is located in the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of the Charente-Maritime, 10 km north of the mouth of the Gironde estuary. It has been connected to the mainland by an immense road bridge that was finished on the 19th of March, 1966. It is the largest of the French metropolitan islands after Corsica.
It offers many attractions for holiday seekers on its 174 km² of surface. There are beautiful sandy beaches and a beautiful network of bike paths allowing you to explore the territory. There is also a national nature reserve, including a large foreshore that can be discovered at low tide.
The town of Saint-Trojan-les-Bains is located in the southern part of the island, in the heart of a large pine forest, and the small city has a little less than 1,500 inhabitants. However, this did not stop it from establishing itself as one of the main seaside resorts on the island which is also one of the oldest. It is directly facing the Arvert peninsula and Ronce-les-Bains and benefits from the Atlantic Ocean to the west and the Maumusson to the east.
The Arevian group also opened a casino in this town. But what does the Arevian Casino in Saint-Trojan-les-Bains have to offer? This is what you can find out in the rest of the review below.
Slot machines and blackjack
The casino offers a traditional selection of games in a modern environment that is even a little dark. As it is always the case in France the casino can only be accessed by adults over the age of 18 who are not prohibited from gambling, and it is necessary to present a valid ID at the entrance, such as an identity card , a driver's license or a passport.
The slot machines
The slot machines room is open Sunday to Thursday from 11 am until 2 am, and also until 3 am on Friday and Saturday. There are 50 slot machines with a minimum stake of €1 available, and you can play the following types of games:
- games where you can win a progressive jackpot,
- mechanical slot machines that offer a retro experience,
- latest-generation video slots with digital screens,
- video poker games,
- an electronic roulette.
The table games
The table games are available Sunday to Thursday from 9.30 pm until 2 am, and 3 am on Friday and Saturday. You can play blackjack with a minimum stake of €4.
Services aside from gambling
Gambling is not the only thing you can do at the casino, as the establishment also offers you the opportunity to take a break and relax from the games. You can enjoy a bite and a drink without having to leave the premises.
The bar is the perfect place to enjoy a drink and take a break from the games. The bar is open the same hours as the slot machine room and you can order different hot and cold drinks with or without alcohol. There are also some snacks on the menu if you are a little hungry.
There is also a small restaurant available at the casino that is open for lunch and dinner. You can have lunch from 12 pm to 2 pm and dinner from 1 pm to 10 pm. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Unfortunately, the establishment does not offer accommodation. If you want to stay overnight in the town you will have to stay somewhere else. There are many hotels in the near vicinity, such as:
- the Hôtel Le Coureau starting from €41 per night,
- the Hôtel Les Pins starting from €65 per night,
- the Hôtel Novotel Thalasso Oléron Saint-Trojan starting from €129 per night.
The Arevian Casino in Saint-Troan-les-Bains is a nice small casino that offers a smaller selection of games, but enough to please most players. The location is perfect and if you are in the area it is worth to visit the casino and play a few rounds. The casino is located only 5 minutes walk from the main beach and the boulevard.
