A casino victim of robbery in Sofia
Winning a jackpot legally, such as the player who won a $1 million jackpot in the Montréal casino, does not seem to be a viable option for some people who would rather take their chances by alternative methods like cheating or robbing them. The latter option was recently chosen by a trio of criminals who have just raided a casino.
A casino in Sofia
In our news of a $200,000 jackpot win, we suggested that when talking about a big win in a casino, we often think of Nevada casinos immediately, even though these jackpots are also regularly won in other casinos around the world. Well, the same might be said for robberies. When we talk about an armed robbery in a casino, we immediately think of casinos in Las Vegas or New York-New York, where a robber wore black makeup and raided the casino, but incidents involving casinos actually occur everywhere in the world. The case we are dealing with today took place in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Robbers fled with €15,000 equivalent
On the night of Monday, April 30th, on Tuesday, May 1st, 2018, just before 2:30 am, a group of three armed and masked individuals stormed Nero Gaming Hall in the Lyulin 4 neighbourhood in Sofia. According to preliminary information, the perpetrators entered the gambling hall and attacked the security personnel. The employee had to be hospitalized after the attack for minor injuries and threatened two employees. The cashiers then gave the robbers the money from the evening who then fled with about 30,000 Bulgarian lev (BGN) in their pocket, which is about €15,000.
This is another sad case, fortunately that did not result in serious injury, which can never happen in an online casino.
