Las Vegas : Richard. Branson (virgin) buys the Hard Rock Hotel
Renowned entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson, who heads the Virgin Hotels business group, has now acquired Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, located on Paradise Road, just off the famous Las Vegas Strip. It will be renamed Virgin Hotels Las Vegas by the end of 2019 and will undergo a series of renovations in the meantime.
Renovating and rebranding
In the first stage, the hotel is to continue operations under its current name. It will not be until next year that the hotel is rebranded after a complete renovation under the new name Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. The hotel has 1504 rooms, many restaurants, bars, a 5,574 m² casino, swimming pool, a commons club and large meeting and congress halls.
Several projects expected to be completed by 2020
The Virgin Hotels Group also works on other projects in Nashville, Dallas, Washington, New Orleans, New York, Silicon Valley, Palm Springs, California, and even Edinburgh in Scotland. All hotels are expected to open by 2020. The group is also interested in developing additional projects in cities such as Boston, Las Vegas, Miami, Austin, Seattle and London.
The purchase of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino by the hotel group of Sir Richard Branson is not the last project of the company, which has ten more hotels and plans to open five more in the future.
