Macao opens doors to a huge casino
The Las Vegas Sands Group has established itself as one of the biggest players in the casino industry worldwide. In Macao, he has already built some mythical complexes celebrating the beauty of very touristic cities such as the famous Venetian and Parisian. Today, Thursday 26 October 2017, the company has just announced the upcoming creation of a gigantic new establishment with London as its theme. Let's take stock together of this interesting news.
An investment of $1.1 billion
The Londoner, the next casino to be developed by billionaire Sheldon Adelson's group, will include some of the most emblematic places in the British capital. The transformation of the Sands Cotai Central complex will require an investment of $1.1 billion over the next three years. Not far from there, Las Vegas Sands will also expand its Four Seasons Hotel on the Cotai Strip by adding 295 suites.
The rebirth of Macao
This announcement comes at a time when Macao is experiencing a real renaissance, which we have already talked about through a news report (Macau casinos growth rate is confirmed).
By 2018, two new establishments are scheduled to open to the public:
- the MGM Cotai, which includes a spa, a theatre and a 1,500-room hotel,
- the Grand Lisboa Palace with hotels such as Versace and Lagerfeld.
Macao, as we can see, is in an excellent position far from the current Altantic City fiasco, which has been killed by the excessive ambitions of businessman Donald Trump.
