Catalonia is planning to open a Hardrock casino
The Hard Rock Group of Companies has lately been a subject of conversation. After the on the Las Vegas Strip casino was sold to Richard Branson and the authorities gave the green light to build a casino in Ottawa, the group will soon move into Spain. Near Port Aventura theme park in Catalonia, Hard Rock Entertainment World will open its doors in three years' time. We'll talk more about the XXL entertainment complex next.
A permit from the Generalitat of Catalonia
We already reported last July on this new project that combines a hotel, entertainment and a casino. At that time, the complex was still in the planning stage, as the Hard Rock group still had to seek planning permission. This approval has now been issued by the Generalitat of Catalonia on Friday, May 25th.
An ambitious project
The total cost of the five-year construction period is planned at two billion euros, with the cost of construction of the Hard Rock Group complex amounting to 700 million euros. The entertainment complex will offer visitors the following services:
- Two hotels with a total of 1,100 rooms,
- A shopping centre with 75 shops,
- A 6,000m² swimming pool,
- A concert hall for 15,000 people,
- A Hard Rock Café,
- A 10,000 m² casino, which is one of the largest in Europe with 1,200 slot machines and 100 table games.
This new project shows the ambition of the Hard Rock Group to expand internationally which is now represented in more than 75 countries around the world.
