CFMJ and Comlot publish lists of online casinos blocked from operating in Switzerland
The CFMJ in Switzerland has published a Switzerland list of 39 banned online casino domains.
Although countries such as Cambodia and the Philippines have gone through extraordinary lengths to clamp down on online gambling, most countries do not take such Draconian measures. However, online casino operators attempting to bypass existing Swiss law will find that they are now part of a Switzerland blacklist.
Switzerland Blacklist - Swiss Bill
This action by the government bodies come after the implementation of a Swiss bill on gambling which only allows land-based casinos to operate. At the present time, there are only two operators permitted to offer gambling: The Grand Casino Baden and The Grand Casino Luzern.
ISPs blocked
As per article 86, both Comlot and CFMJ are empowered to block Internet access, using a domain name server lock, to online casinos targeting Swiss players without a licence.
The Comlot has published its own black list of 65 online casino domain names.
Banned domains
While Comlot has collected 65 domain names, CFMJ has collected just 39 names. Many of these names appear on both lists including names like Unibet, Pinnacle, Bet365 and Interwetten.
These online casinos will no longer be accessible by Swiss players although they may be able to circumvent the Switzerland blacklist to access on the casino using a VPN which is not recommended.
