Casino review / de Saint-Julien
The Casino in Saint-Julien in the Haute-Savoie department of France is located at the intersection of the motorway between Geneva, Annecy, Chamonix and Lyon. The property has been recently renovated, and offers a very clean, quiet and relaxing atmosphere with good conditions to play games in.
You can find over one hundred slot machines, and fans of traditional games can play at several tables with Texas Hold'em poker, blackjack and English roulette.
But playing games is not everything in life. And because of this the establishment also offers three different restaurants with a unique decor and a pleasant atmosphere.
So, do not waste any more time with this little introduction, and read our more detailed presentation of what you can find in the casino that was ranked in the top 60 of France, in terms of turnover.
A good selection of games
Of course, it is the games room that will get most of the attention at the Casino in Saint-Julien. I must say, the game selection is great, and you can find a diverse selection of over one hundred slot machines, an electronic roulette and 9 traditional game tables. There is something there for every player!

The slot machine hall is decorated in a chic and modern decor, and it is open from 10 am to 2 am on weekdays and until 3 am on Fridays, Saturdays and eves of public holidays. You can play at 103 slot machines. Among them are :
- mechanical slot machines with 3 reels,
- video slots with 5 reels,

There is also an electronic roulette table with 7 spaces.
The table games
The traditional table games open every day from 8 pm. You can play at :
- 3 tables with English roulette with minimum stakes of €2,
- 2 blackjack tables with minimum stakes of €5.
The Casino in Saint-Julien also has 4 tables with Texas Hold'em poker. The games have a buy-in from €100 and blinds from €2. The games are available every evening from 8 pm (with registration from 7.30 pm), and also on Sunday afternoon from 4 pm (with pre-registration at noon).
As always in France, access to the games room is strictly allowed for adults who are not prohibited from gambling in casinos, and it is necessary to present a valid ID or passport if you are a foreigner.
Three restaurants with unique atmospheres
In addition to the interesting games room, the Casino in Saint-Julien also focuses on gastronomy to attract customers, and the establishment has 3 restaurants serving interesting cuisines.
First of all, the Safran welcomes with an interesting decor in warm colours and a panoramic view of the Jura Mountains. From traditional to modern, it offers a fine cuisine to discover.
For example, you can find several interesting dishes on the menu, such as foie gras, salmon, lobster or Saint-Jacques. There are also different fish or shellfish dishes cooked a la plancha, or different meat dishes, such as tenderloin steaks, slow cooked veal chops, venison filet mignon with pepper sauce or roast lamb. Of course, there is also a nice selection of cheeses and desserts, such as crème brûlée with mint chocolate, lemon pie or a gourmet coffee.
You can also opt for one of two set menus: the Sonate or Sérénade menus.
The Majoja restaurant is located inside table games hall, and it offers high quality cuisine using fresh products. The food selection are mostly snacks, and you can find :
- foie gras, smoked salmon, a salad, beef carpaccio or soup for starters,
- different pasta specialties, fish, meats, stir fries and burgers as main courses,
- cheese and desserts.
The restaurant is open daily from 8 pm to 10.30 pm on weekdays, and until 11 pm on weekends. The establishment also has a bar that is open until the closure of the casino.
In the slot machine hall is also the bar-restaurant Paradise. The place is very exotic, and you can enjoy a cocktail or have a snack at any time of day. The bar opens their doors at 10 am, but the restaurant serves lunch between 12.15 pm and 1.45 pm and dinner between 7.15 pm and 10.30 pm on weekdays and until 11 pm on weekends.
For lunch and dinner you can also choose from several set menus :
- Adonis with a single main course for €10.50,
- Betty Boop with a starter and main course for €15,
- Cleopatra with a starter, main course and dessert for €18.50.
Ideally located close to the Swiss border and several ski slopes
Saint-Julien-en-Genevois in the Haute Savoie department is a town bordering Switzerland, just 15 minutes from Geneva. The town also features the casino that I was talking about in this review.
You can also enjoy the Alpine massif, its beautiful scenery, as well as the many ski areas. There are many sports and cultural facilities, and you can enjoy for example water sports, tree climbing, parachuting and paragliding, but you can also visit various festivals and art galleries.
You can also easily cross the Swiss border and go to Geneva or Lake Geneva that offers many diverse activities.
In conclusion I can say that the Casino in Saint-Julien is a very nice gambling establishment. The location is great, and you can find three different restaurants offering very good value for money. The game selection should also satisfy most players, as the casino offers many different games.
In short, nothing has been left to chance in this resort where expertise, hospitality and professionalism are the guarantors of the quality of services offered. This is a good recipe for a great evening!
