Located between Marseille and Martigues, next to the Mediterranean Sea and the famous bays, the Casino Barrière in Carry-le-Rouet illuminates the port of this small provincial town with a beautiful facade that has been renovated in a style of the 1930s. You can learn more about the casino in our review about it below.

190 slots, Roulette, Blackjack and Texas Hold'em No Limit

Let us begin our review about the services of the Casino Barrière de Carry-le-Rouet by giving you more detail about the game selection.

The slot machines

The slot machine room is open Sunday to Thursday from 10 am to 3 am, and Friday, Saturday and evenings before public holidays from 10 am to 4 am. There are 190 machines available accepting stakes from 1 cent up to €10. Among them you can find:

  • an electronic English Roulette,

  • Video Poker machines,

  • video slots with 5 reels,

  • mechanical slot machines with 3 reels.

The table games

The room with the traditional table games is open Sunday to Thursday from 8 pm to 3 am, and on Friday, Saturday and evenings before public holidays from 9 pm to 4 am. Available are:

  • 3 tables with English Roulette,

  • 2 tables with Blackjack.

The poker room is open Monday to Wednesday from 8 pm, and Thursday to Sunday from 3 pm. There are 3 tables with Texas Hold'em No Limit.

We also would like to mention that, according to the laws in France, access to the casino is only allowed to adults who are not prohibited from playing money games. Because of this you will need to present a valid ID at the reception of the casino.

A restaurant-bar and a theatre

In addition to this attractive game selection, the Casino Barrière in Carry-le-Rouet also offers other services aside from gambling.

The Café des Sports

In the gaming hall of the establishment is the Café des Sports, where you can have a drink with friends in a friendly atmosphere, a drink between games, or just to enjoy a sports event. The cafe can only be accessed by adults, as indicated above, and it is open from 10 am to 3 am weekdays, and until 4 am on weekends and evenings before public holidays. You can enjoy a menu offering starters, main courses and desserts.

The Salon Barrière

It is also possible to see a show or take part in various activities in the gala hall of the establishment. There are dance evenings, comedians and a variety of artists and other shows on the program.

However, you should keep in mind that the establishment of the Lucien Barrière group does not offer any accommodation on their premises. Fortunately, the town of Carry-le-Rouet has a variety of hotels suited for all budgets. You can find the Villa Arena Hotel right next to the casino and the sea, which is a pleasant 2-star hotel with prices from €70 a night.

Only 25 km from Marseille

Carry-le-Rouet is a family resort located on the Blue Coast between Marseille and Martigues in south-eastern France, bordering the Mediterranean. It is very busy in summer, and offers beautiful seascapes with its sheltered bays and beautiful beaches that are very popular with scuba divers. The Casino Barrière also attracts many tourists.

You can access it:

  • by car via the motorway A55 and the exit Carry-le-Rouet,

  • by air, via the international airport of Marseille-Provence, which is located 15 minutes away,

  • by train, via the train station of the town.

Casino is too small in case of crowds, but has a warm atmosphere

At the end of this review about the Casino Barrière de Carry-le-Rouet we would like to talk a little more about the general atmosphere in the casino.

The property was recently renovated and the interior is very pleasant and pretty with beautiful decorations.

However, the casino has one main flaw: it is relatively small. It is not a small casino as such, as it has 190 slots and 8 tables, but it attracts many visitors, especially on the weekends and during the summer months. It can be a little overcrowded at times, which is a little uncomfortable when the space between the slots is narrow and you feel like people are on top of each other. Similarly, the waiting time to play the different games can be long, very long sometimes. It is also difficult to play in peace, without being rushed by other people waiting. This clearly shows that there are not enough slots available during peak periods, and it is even possible for people to block machines by leaving their phone or their keys.

Fortunately, this drawback is made up for by a friendly atmosphere and a friendly staff, who are always smiling and have a friendly attitude. The service is excellent, and you will have the impression of being of royal blood when you enter the casino. The dealers are also always available and attentive, and they also explain the rules to beginners. The staff is very professional.

The Casino Barrière in Carry-le-Rouet has some tremendous advantages.

Although it is a little small and restricted when it is very crowded, the quality of the games, the general atmosphere and the excellent service will ensure that you have a wonderful time here. You can also count on finding latest generation slot machines.

In short, it is easy to understand why the establishment is part of the top 25 of the largest casinos in France in terms of turnover since 2005.
