Endearing theme
One of the strengths of the Fairy Tale Legends series of slots is the incredibly rich graphics in combination with symphonic style music, and the sound of nature, for a truly magical experience. The medium-value symbols include Snow White, evil queen, game logo, a crystal and a lantern. The lower-value symbols consist of six poker icons.
The Mirror Re-spin feature
A special mirror symbol can appear on the 3rd reel during the main game and on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd reels during free spins. When this happens, it then changes into either the princess (Snow White) or the evil queen symbol. All other instances of this randomly chosen symbol become frozen in place and you are then given a free re-spin for the opportunity to collect even more instances of the symbol. The re-spins can continue provided that you continue adding more identical symbols. We found that this feature was triggered relatively often when we played.
Coin wins, Free Spins, and Mining: Bonus features
Any one of three bonus features is triggered with the appearance of three scatter symbols on the 1st, 3rd and 5th reels. It is also possible that the feature is triggered with the appearance of a bonus symbol on the 1st and 3rd reels only, on any losing spin. Here the fairy may add the third bonus symbol to the 5th reel to trigger the feature. Regardless, you're presented with three treasure chests and invited to open one to reveal any of the three concealed bonus games: coin wins, free spins or mining. The coin wins will present you with x15 your current bet. The free spins feature gives you the opportunity to play 10 rounds for free. In the mining bonus, you crack open crystals, one at a time using a pick axe, out of a total of nine. You can keep cracking open crystals provided that the pick axe does not break after the third pick. This can reveal total prizes ranging from 50 to 500 coins. We found triggering the bonus feature to be difficult but not impossible.
Fairy Surprise, Fairy Magic Spin and Fairy Mirror: Random features
The Fairy Surprise, Fairy Magic Spin, or Fairy Mirror features can randomly be triggered on any main game spin. The Fairy Surprise feature can only be triggered on a losing spin. Here, all low-value symbols are transformed into a randomly chosen medium-value symbol. In the Fairy Magic Spin feature, a random grouping of five to seven medium-value symbols, which excludes the logo symbol, overlay the reels for a spin. Finally, the Fairy Mirror feature randomly places a mirror symbol on the third reel to trigger a Mirror Re-spin. We found triggering the random features to be difficult but not entirely impossible.
