Charms & Clovers is one of the latest additions to Betsoft's popular Slots3 enterprise, which plays on the familiar Leprechaun theme as the catalyst for an exciting 6-reel and 40 fixed paylines slot. With a wee bit o'luck you can really clean up with a maximum of 35,000 coins!
Good ol' Irish charm
With Irish music playing in the background and changing according to what is happening in the game, you are off to a great start!
A Leprechaun grins at you by the side of the first reel. He is designed in 3d and draped in green clothing, which blends him in perfectly to the surrounding green foliage of the Irish countryside. Behind his big grin, you just know that he is thinking about his shiny pot of gold.
The symbols begin with the lower end poker but from there you climb up the prize ladder to a bar, beer mug, horseshoe, pot of gold, 4-leaf clover, golden lucky 7, rainbow and finally the Leprechaun symbols.
They are all wonderfully designed in predominantly green and golden yellow.
Though I enjoyed the visual appeal of the game, I did find that the combination of 20 symbols with all the option buttons made the game feel a little cluttered. The sound effects are nothing short of spectacular and proof that the developer did not take any shortcuts when designing this game.
Charms and clovers
The wild symbol substitutes for all symbols except for the sixth reel bonus symbols. It should come as no surprise that the game takes its name from the next feature, which is triggered when one of four fully stacked symbols land on the sixth bonus reel.
First, the Money Wheel Feature spins the regular wheel to reveal a multiplier from as little as 4x to 5x or 15x your bet. You may also get a chance to spin the Super Wheel with a chance to win the Mini progressive Jackpot or a multiplier of up to 40x your bet. If you are super lucky then you could be spinning the Mega Wheel for a shot at 100x your bet or the Giant or Colossal progressive Jackpots.
Next, the Mega Symbol Feature introduces a giant 3x3 Leprechaun symbol while awarding you 8 free spins. You can land giant and small Leprechauns to add to your pot of coins.
The Golden Bonus Feature invites you to follow the Leprechaun to earn coins by choosing a pot of gold from amongst 5 that could reward your with up to 20x your bet.
Finally, the Pots of Gold Feature awards you 8 free spins where you automatically receive three new wild symbols randomly on the reels during each spin.
The flip of the coin
You can also play the optional coin flip gamble feature for a chance to double your winnings by correctly predicting heads or tails. You can continue to play this until you decide to collect your winnings or have run out of coins.
