Le Gosier is a seaside resort in the department of Guadeloupe, in the urban area of Pointe-à-Pitre where you can enjoy beautiful sandy beaches and scenery of the island. There are also excellent spots for nature lovers at the source of Tom Thumb or Calvary park. There is also the largest aquarium of Guadeloupe and the Caribbean.
Although the town has a lot of attractions to offer, it will probably be the casino that draws the attention of players. The Casino in Le Gosier is managed by the Cogit group, and it is the most important casino in a French overseas territory. Let us now see what the casino has to offer.
A nice casino
The games room welcomes you in a very colourful universe. It can be accessed by all adults over the age of 18 years, and it is necessary to present a proof of identity (identity card, driving license or passport).
The slot machines
There are over 180 devices from 1 cent available every day Sunday to Thursday from 10 am until 3 am, and until 4 am on Fridays, Saturdays and eves of public holidays. You can find:
- games with progressive jackpots,
- mechanical slot machines,
- modern video slots,
- video poker,
- multi-game devices,
- an electronic roulette.
The table games
Those who prefer traditional table games can find half a dozen tables that are open every day Sunday to Thursday from 8 pm until 3 am, and until 4 am on Fridays, Saturdays and eves of public holidays. You can play at:
- 2 tables with roulette,
- 3 tables with blackjack,
- 2 tables with stud poker.
You can also play texas hold'em poker at two tables that are open Sunday to Thursday from 8 pm until 3 am, and on Fridays, Saturdays and eves of public holidays from 8 pm to 4 am. You can play against other players in:
Dining and drinking
In addition to playing, The Cogit Casino in Le Gosier also offers everything needed in order for you to take a break between the games. You can enjoy a restaurant and a bar. However, it is not possible to stay there overnight, as the establishment does not have a hotel.
The bar is open the same hours as the casino, i.e. every day Sunday to Thursday from 10 am until 3 am, and until 4 am on Fridays, Saturdays and eves of public holidays. You can have a drink at the Casino Bar that offers a nice menu with various alcoholic and non-alcoholic hot and cold beverages, including many different beers and various cocktails, as well as some sweet or savoury snacks.
Those wishing to enjoy more substantial dishes can visit the restaurant that is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 12 pm to 2.45 pm, and in the evenings from 7 pm to 10.45 pm. There is a large self-service buffet with salads, various local and international specialties and deserts, or you can opt for a set menu for €19 that changes every day.
Unfortunately, the complex does not offer any accommodation. This means that you will have to sleep somewhere else, but there are many hotels nearby, so this is not a big problem. For example, you can find the following hotels:
- the Karaibes Hotel ** starting from €72 per night,
- the Canella Beach Hotel *** starting from €168 per night,
- the Auberge de la Vieille Tour **** starting from €205 per night,
- the Mahagony Hotel Résidence & Spa **** starting from €241 per night.
In short, the Cogit Casino in Gosier has a lot to offer. The restaurant and bar are both very nice, but it is mostly the casino that will draw the attention of the players. In this respect, the casino does not disappoint, as the game selection offers something for everyone.
