Review written by Sophie Couard, August 24, 2015.

The city Lille is the capital of the Nord–Pas-de-Calais region and the prefecture of the Nord department. It offers everything needed for visitors to have a fantastic time, and because of this the town is one of the most popular destinations in France for holidays, entertainment, business and leisure. The capital of Flanders is a symbol of a strong cultural heritage and offers architectural masterpieces, including the Vieille Bourse, the Palais Rihour, the Piscine musée d’art et d’industrie André Diligent, Vieux Lille, and many others.

Aside from visiting the city and discovering its heritage, there are many different activities possible, such as visiting the zoo or the Giants' Gardens, shopping in the different markets and shopping centres of the city, exploring the town by bike, and many others. The city also offers an alternative to common entertainment with the Barrière Casino in Lille.

The Casino in Lille is one of the top 10 gambling establishments in France and offers many different games, such as slot machines, table games and poker, restaurants and bars, different types of events and many more. The Casino offers a selection of 300 slot machines, that also includes the latest models and the innovations. There are also around 20 tables available for fans of traditional games, and there is also a Poker Room with 4 cash game tables and an electronic Texas Hold'em Poker table. The Casino is also a great address to enjoy fine dining in a nice atmosphere in the restaurants or a refreshing drink at one of the bars. There are 3 restaurants and 4 bars offering different cuisines and styles. The Barrière Casino in Lille also offers different activities and events, such as gastronomy shows, games, competitions and others. There is also a loyalty program that rewards loyal visitors.

The table games

The Barrière Casino in Lille also has a great reputation when it comes to traditional table games. You can enjoy the most popular table games, including Blackjack, Bataille and English Roulette. There are 20 gaming tables are available, and you can easily join them and play your favourite game.

Fans of the card game Blackjack are invited to play at one of the five tables of the casino, each of them can accommodate up to 10 players. As Blackjack is one of the most popular casino games, Barrière Casino in Lille dedicated 5 tables in the gaming room to this game. Each table can accommodate 2 to 10 players, and you can enjoy a lively atmosphere that is loaded with tension. If you are a beginner at Blackjack or traditional games in general, you get the opportunity to learn the rules of the games with the help of the dealers at the table.

Whether you are a beginner or an expert at the game, you can participate by betting a minimum bet of €5 or €10, depending on which table you are playing at. High Rollers can also raise their bets and play with a lot more money, which would also mean that a lot more money can be won.

The 6 Blackjack tables are open every day, Monday to Friday from 7 pm to 4 am, and on Saturdays, Sundays and eves of public holidays from 4 pm to 4 am.

Bataille

If you are a fan of card games and are looking for fun without having to learn a multitude of rules, the Bataille table at the Lille Casino table is probably the best for you. The only rule to remember is the value of the cards, from ace to 2 in descending order. In the event of a tie between a player and the dealer, the player has the choice between two options, either giving up and recovering half of the initial bet, or the player can battle, the true meaning of the name of the game, in which the player pays an additional bet of the amount equal to the initial bet.

The game can also be spiced up by betting on a tie, and when your first card and that of the dealer at the same value you will win 10 times your bet. The minimum bet for a round at this table is €2.

You can try your luck at the Bataille table at the Casino every day, Monday to Friday from 7 pm to 4 am, and on Saturdays, Sundays and eves of public holidays from 4 pm to 4 am.

Traditional English Roulette

If you are a fan of gambling in its purest form, the Barrière Casino in Lille invites you to play a game at one of their 8 traditional English Roulette tables. Each table has a 37-number cylinder and a table that shows the different betting options, such as full numbers, corners, streets, six line, columns, simple chances and many others.
